Do you get LOST?

Just a little heads up – Lost is most assuredly my favorite TV show. Actually, since we have no TV its just about all the TV we get around here (unless we bum a couch from a friend).
If you’ve never seen Lost, or watched an episode two years ago and had no clue what was going on, its because Lost takes nothing for granted. Nothing. Every episode builds on itself, and at the end of every episode is a cliffhanger keeping you hooked. This has been done before, and with other shows you eventually just get tired of it all and the show gets put out to pasture. Not Lost. The genius with this show is its end date. They have committed to only six seasons (they start Season 5 next month), meaning, they’ve got to wrap up all their loose ends and we can get back to our normal lives in the foreseeable future.
The show’s capacity to keep you disoriented helps earn it’s unique title. It has become this deep, complex web of fantasy, philosophy, science fiction and redemption. Over the last two years in Abilene our small group met at our place to watch the episode, then talk about it for another hour or two afterward.
We just got Lost Season 4 on DVD the other day. It’s sort of our one media purchase all year, now that our Wii is sold. And I’m not gonna lie, we’ve been getting a little psyched about the upcoming Season 5, which premieres January 21st on ABC.
The good news is you don’t have to purchase the DVD’s or schedule your life away to watch the show. It streams free on ABC.com’s special Lost episodes page.
The latest big deal is wikis, and yes, they have a Lost wiki too. It rocks! This is the kind of show that goes so much better with a group discussion – so with a little bit of self-restraint, I may just join the fray…a little.Â
Anyone else a LOST fan?
